KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR SHOOT CAN BE OVERWHELMING! I GET IT.

AND I WANT TO PUT YOUR MIND AT EASE - SO i’VE ANSWERED SOME OF MY MOST-ASKED QUESTIONS BELOW.

+ How do we receive our images?

I deliver all my images through a website as an online gallery. You will be emailed the link to the website and can download all your images. It is highly recommended that you download your images onto your computer/ hard drive as well as keep a copy. You have guaranteed access to your online gallery for family, weddings and lifestyle shoots for up to a year.

+ What should I wear to my shoot?

I recommend wearing something you feel comfortable and confident in. I will likely direct you to move around so make sure you are wearing something that you feel comfortable in enough to sit, walk, stand, dance, or lift your little one into the air. In terms of colours: neutrals are always a win, you can have a look at some of my previous family or lifestyle sessions to get an idea of colour combinations. Try to stay away from big logos, words, branding and graphic imaged t-shirts, we want the focus to remain on you and the emotions felt, rather than look back at your images and have your eyes drawn to your clothing. Tip: Lay out your loved ones outfits together and see how they look together. You are more than welcome to send me a photo of option and I can point you in the right direction.

+ Where are you based?

I am based in the warm, beautiful little beachy town up north known as Ballito, KZN. It really is my happy place and it almost feels like the light touches the Dolphin Coast a little differently.

+ How do I schedule a date for my shoot and how long in advance should I book it?

As soon as you know that you would like to book a shoot please contact me about a date, we can discuss an available date and time that would be suitable for the location. Booking about 3 or 4 months in advance is advised. Weekend shoots book up fairly quickly so if you would like a date sooner we can set a date for during the week. I am always happy to chat and figure out a suitable date. Once your 50% booking fee has been paid your date and time slot will be secure. The remaining payment for a shoot is due one week before.

+ How many people can be in my family shoot?

You can have as many people in your family shoot as you would like, I understand families come in all different sizes HOWEVER, this is your hour slot and I would highly advise that in order to receive beautifully captured candid moments the more immediate the family members the better, this will allow for special moments of interaction to be created at a slower pace, rather than the hour session turning into a multiple group photo session. If you are wanting those intimate moments captured, the fewer people the more likely those moments will occur.

+ How do I secure my shoot?

In order to book your date and time slot, the booking fee of 50% needs to be paid, the remaining amount has to be paid one week (7 days) before the shoot.

+ What time should I do my shoot?

We can discuss an available time however keep in mind your location that you are wanting as well as your family member's "happy hours". For an outdoor shoot I would advise a session surrounding sunrise or sunset, as these times allow for great lighting and are usually when public areas are the least busiest (you may not want random Joe Soap in the background of all your images). If you are wanting an indoor shoot, a suitable time will be something that we will discuss together. If you are doing a family shoot with little ones, take note of what times they are their most awake and happiest, try to avoid choosing a time slot that is during their nap time.

+ What location should I choose?

This is up to you. I recommend a location that means a lot to you or somewhere you really like and feel comfortable having your photos taken at. This may be at a park, a beach, a forest, a coffee shop or at your home. Please note that you may need to ask for permission or pay a fee to shoot at a location such as at a coffee shop.

+ Do you use artificial lighting?

Not for my lifestyle sessions. I love the dreamy look of natural light for lifestyle and family sessions, if we need to shoot indoors, I suggest we do it on a sunny day in a room that receives a lot of natural light.

+ How many images do we receive?

For every hour of shooting you will receive a minimum of 60 images, this includes black and white images.

+ You can totally photoshop that out, right?

I believe editing is a crucial part of photography, I use Lightroom to edit to bring your images to life and enhance the mood. I am here to capture your beautifully real, candid moments. So I try to keep your images as natural and as close to the moment as possible and don’t do major surgery on anybody or anything! ;)

+ How do you get such candid/un-posed images?

This is a time for you to spend with your loved ones, so I try to keep that as the focus. I direct you throughout the shoot and give you cues on where to stand or sit or what to look at or what to do with your hands, but for the most part this is a time where you interact with each other, this may mean chasing your little one on the beach as they run away in glee, or embracing your person as tight as you possibly could because you never want to let them go. You’re basically being you, loveing the people you love and I get to snap away while you do that :).

+ How do I find out about booking you for my wedding?

Oooo! Good question! Pop over to the contact page, you can fill it out with all of your info and I will be sent an email. I will then get in touch with you and we can set up a video call or coffee date and we will chat all things wedding.
